The Lib Dems’ disciplinary farce
Does this make any sense at all?
The British MP who sparked outrage on the eve of International Holocaust Remembrance Day by suggesting that “the Jews” had not learned the lessons of the Holocaust has been forced by his party to work with a pro-Israel group and remove the comments from his website.
Liberal Democrat MP David [...]

Lib Dems: going, going…
Remember when the Liberal Democrats used to be the nation’s third biggest party?
Having done badly in two successive sets of local elections its share of the vote continues to slide.
Last night’s YouGov/Sun poll has topline figures of LAB 43%, Con 32%, UKIP 9% and Lib Dems 8%, from UKPollingReport.

Baroness Tonge: Appearing at the LibDem Spring Conference
Last week, Baroness Tonge resigned the Liberal Democrat whip, following her surreal outburst at Middlesex University, where she was speaking alongside Ken O’Keefe. O’Keefe is one of the authors on deLiberation: a website founded by the racist and promoter of Holocaust denial, Gilad Atzmon, as a home for those expelled from the Palestine Solidarity Campaign for [...]

Tony Lloyd MP, Baroness Falkner and Hamas
Tony Lloyd MP is Chair of the Parliamentary Labour Party.
Since he’s Labour, he is unlikely to be criticised by his party for leading a delegation to Gaza to meet Hamas leaders.

It has been a good day for Nick Clegg. Today, he launched Opening Door, Breaking Barriers, a new approach to tackling the thorny problem of social mobility.
He said he wanted to stop people getting on in life purely because of “who they know” and has announced that informal internships for young people in [...]

Defend Mike Hancock
The LibDem MP for Portsmouth South, Mike Hancock is undoubtedly fond of much younger women and has admitted to extra-marital affairs, but I cannot see any way to excuse allegations made against him during the 2010 General Election.
In running for the the Justice and Anti-Corruption Party, Les Cummings distributed a leaflet calling Hancock a paedophile [...]

Defend the LibDems
Vince Cable did not half make it easy for the Daily Telegraph when it dispatched staffers to blog about him. Having been told that they were constituents and local Party members, he volunteered the position that he had “declared war” on Rupert Murdoch regarding ownership of media outlets.
What a dope. And this resulted [...]

LibDems Suspend Party Member Following Allegations of Defrauding Students
Dr Vincent McKee has been implicated in defrauding students out of thousands of pounds in tuition fees.
There is a joke in here somewhere.

Mike Hancock: All At Sea
Of all the stories about Liberal Democrat MP Mike Hancock that have come out today, I think this is my favourite:
According to Eörsi, Hancock effectively acted as a Kremlin lobbyist, voting with the Russian delegation and even co-authoring pro-Kremlin amendments. Hancock had also failed to declare all of his frequent trips to Russia, Eörsi claimed, [...]
