    Labour Splits!

So it is confirmed. Seven MPs have quit the Labour Party over a combination of Antisemitism, Brexit and what can be broadly summarised as “Corbynism”. They are Chuka Umunna (Streatham) Luciana Berger (Liverpool Wavertre) Chris Leslie (Nottingham East) Angela Smith (Penistone & Stocksbridge) Mike Gapes (Ilford South) Gavin Shuker (Luton South) Ann Coffey (Stockport) Click on their names to view their resignation announcements The new party* is tentatively called The Independent Group. Are more Labour MPs poised to follow? Ed Miliband, for one, is staying put. Yvette Cooper is going nowhere. How will the new party differentiate itself from the Liberal Democrats, or will that shrinking party throw in its…

The Man Going After “Disruptive Zionist” Luciana Berger

The Red Roar Tweets: BREAKING: In the same week Luciana Berger has spoken out on antisemitism, members in her CLP have proposed a motion of no confidence in her, saying “our MP is continually using the media to criticise the man we all want to be prime minister”. pic.twitter.com/VeDr7NIwRJ — The Red Roar (@TheRedRoar) February 7, 2019 Note there’s a man with the same name as the proposer of one of the motions who posts on Facebook about Corbyn, the Labour Party and Liverpool Wavertree. He’s a real charmer: Note what he shares about Margaret Hodge: It seems like he wants to do something horrible to what he calls “traitorous…

Quick Take a Pop at Israel – Everyone Else is

Perhaps, like me, you think of the UN and NGO attacks on Israel as coming from the same source. I saw Amnesty’s video first but it occurs to me that it’s a very good thing that UN Watch is out there pointing out some major hypocrisy. Attacking Trip Advisor strikes me as ridiculous. On March 18th, the UN Human Rights Council will launch an unprecedented assault on Israel, with 7 reports accusing the Jewish state of war crimes. There’ll be 0 on China, Turkey, Cuba & other of the world’s worst regimes. Join me on March 18 in Geneva to say: Enough is enough. pic.twitter.com/O5f6a36VCK — Hillel Neuer (@HillelNeuer) February…

Venezuela Air Force General Defects from Maduro

Note that the attempt to bring back some sanity to Venezuela is proceeding apace. This is from ABC: Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido reiterated a call for the military to defect from the country’s socialist government on Saturday, as President Nicolas Maduro appeared to intensify a deepening political standoff by proposing to hold early National Assembly elections that could potentially oust his challenger. Speaking from behind a podium decorated with Venezuela‘s presidential seal, Guaido vowed to thousands of roaring supporters that he would keep his opposition movement in the streets until Maduro stopped “usurping” the country’s presidency and agreed to organizing new presidential elections overseen by international observers. The 35-year-old president of…

Yvonne Ridley the University College Union and the Politicisation of Holocaust Memorial Day

Most people who had heard of her might think Yvonne Ridley would make an unlikely choice to speak on Holocaust Memorial Day. Not so the University College Union in Newcastle, they actually invited her to speak at their Holocaust Memorial Day Event: And speak she did, alongside local Labour MP Liz Twist: Journalist and author @yvonneridley speaking to a packed audience at @nclcollUCU #HMD2019 event pic.twitter.com/vHXFhyuXIO — Newcastle Unites (@NewcastleUnites) January 25, 2019 The reason one might think Ridley is a strange choice is because of some of her past comments on the Holocaust:       One might also want to read this note written on Facebook:   For…

Labour on Racism and Diane Abbott

Recently Diane Abbot participated in Question Time where she was placed on the defensive regarding Labour’s position in the polls. The fallout from this was a wave of righteous indignation from the party about racism and pro-Tory bias int he BBC. Momentum were quick to create a video and email it around to their members complaining about “discriminatory bias”:   Fiona Bruce was clearly repeating Tory propaganda that Labour were behind in the polls. If she had said behind in one poll, that would have been different matter. This👇🏾is not an apology and does not address all of the issues that have been raised. https://t.co/XVJpncIegl — Diane Abbott (@HackneyAbbott) January…

    UNWRA employee created PFLP symbol

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine were some of the most sadistic terrorists at a time when sadism was all the rage in the killers who were attacking Israel. I just saw that the person who designed their logo was an UNWRA employee from Jerusalem called Vladimir Tamari Check this out Following the overwhelming Arab defeat and the total occupation of Palestine, including Jerusalem in the Arab-Israeli War of June 1967, the Palestinians countered with a guerrilla war – the Resistance. I was in Beirut at the time, cut off from home and family, and working for UNRWA the United Nations Agency to support Palestinian refugees in the…

Lewisham Labour Party Goes Full on Conspiracy Theory

This from Euan Philipps of Labour Against Antisemitism: Seriously, WTF are @LewDeptLabour on? Have they bothered to read the IHRA? “Making mendacious, dehumanizing, demonizing, or stereotypical allegations about Jews as such or the power of Jews as collective — such as, especially the myth about a world Jewish conspiracy”. Worrying. https://t.co/VGHUn3OTP4 — Euan Philipps (@EuanPhilipps) January 12, 2019 This is the motion they passed:

Tony Greenstein Writes in Book Defending Atzmon

Despite constantly attacking Gilad Atzmon and supposedly seeing him as an antisemite Tony Greenstein has been publicising a book defending him and even contributed a passage to the publication. Both Greenstein and Atzmon are regularly called antisemitic for the way they discuss Jews and Jewish issues. Greenstein calls Atzmon antisemitic though rejects the term when applied to himself. The Antisemitism Wars has been published by Karl Sabbagh and consists mainly of open source documents available online. The only parts of the book that appear to be original are four essays, one of which was contributed by Greenstein. The veteran activist wrote that upon Corbyn’s election as leader of the Labour…
