Israel, Palestine, European Jewish Intellectuals: A Parable

This story really has it all:

1. Palestinian writer demands that Mizrahi Jewish Israeli writer is kicked out of a French literary panel discussion.

2. Other Arab writers oppose the demand.

3. Jewish-French intellectual chucks Mizrahi Jew off the panel, deeming his participation  “not crucial”

4. “half of the crowd got very angry, and the other half was thrilled.”

Frankly, this template describes a political dynamic which is now pretty common.
