Lauren Booth and “The Muslim Cause”

I don’t much like public displays of religiosity. They are for places of worship, not ostentatious in-your-face grandstanding for broadcast.
Lauren Booth has a different view. Here she is at this weekend’s “Global Peace and Unity” conference.

She is introduced by Mohamed Ali Harrath, a man of violence who hoped to start a Khomeinist [...]

Anti-Israel petition among Methodists fails

This is a cross post by David from Methodist Preacher

The anti-Israel campaign  within British Methodism is clearly faltering.
An  online petition in support of the Church’s recently adopted official position on Israel has closed after only ten days with just 279 signatories.
This combines with evidence from the south west to show how little enthusiasm among Methodists [...]

MPAC’s Strange Claim About Baroness Warsi

The Muslim Public Affairs Committee, which is run by Asghar Bukhari, a man who famously once offered to fundraise for the Holocaust denier, David Irving, has an “exclusive”. It is a very odd “exclusive”, as it is plainly false. What is interesting about it, however, is that MPAC clearly believe it to be true.

Here it [...]

Lawful Industrial Action Bill fails to get to next stage

This is a guest post by Sarah AB
Even people who are naturally strike-averse, or who were unsure of the merits of the BA workers’ case, might have been made uneasy, back in May, when BA managed to overturn the ballot in favour of industrial action on a technicality – a ballot in which 81% voted [...]

Dan Meridor: deputy prime minister of Gaza?

Julie Webb-Pullman, a New Zealander in the latest Viva Palestina convoy, has a gushing account at the New Zealand website Scoop about meeting– along with Pippa Bartolotti– “Gaza President Ismail Haniya and Deputy Prime Minister Dan Meridor!”
Shortly before we had complained to women organisers of the event that only men had been allowed into the [...]

Gaza’s surfer girls

A reminder that even in a place like Gaza, girls sometimes manage to have fun– although the “traditional” values imposed by Hamas don’t make it easy.
Sitting in her family’s living room later, Rawand tries to explain: “It’s a great feeling when I surf, but I won’t surf when there are a lot of people around. [...]

Decorated for Services to Hamas

Who’s being decorated by Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh for services to the terrorist group?

It’s Kevin Ovenden, a trustee of Viva Palestina, yesterday at a convoy ceremony hosted by Hamas in Gaza.

Haniyeh was grateful for the support:
“The arrival of the Viva Palestina Lifeline 5 convoy, organized by the UK-based charity Viva Palestina, in Gaza is [...]
