Is Griffin turning back the clock?

Recently, former BNP Legal Director Lee Barnes summed the BNP up as follows:

The party is internally schizophrenic.

It is comprised on one hand of hard core Nazi’s on one wing and on the other Civic Nationalists.

Both sides despise each other.

Interestingly, we now have this from Griffin:

Civic nationalism is actually a Marxist mentality which starts at the very far left, comes through the BBC, the Labour Party, the Lib Dems and the Conservatives. There are even people in this party who are also civic nationalists. Now some of them are perfectly decent people but are beguiled by the ideology which is in is part somebody else’s, is Marxist and so is desperately wrong.

Barnes also noted the following:

For decades the BNP was simply for Racial Nationalists and stood in total opposition to Civic Nationalism.

Then the BNP began to evolve a third position, that of Ethno-nationalism between Racial Nationalism and Civic Nationalism – and this worked for a while to keep the party quiet.

Griffin has now effectively rejected the very people who have been central to the BNP’s ‘new image’. Is he finally giving up the pretense of ‘respectability’ and ‘moderation’?
