Isy, one can argue whether she should have resigned first before going public, though personally, I don’t see why she should have had to. I think it better that she forced AI’s hand in choosing between her and the enemies of universal human rights.

Absolutely right Tim. By staying in place, she effectively smoked them out. What was important, was that the public should be left in no doubt about the subversion of the AI mission.
