One of my colleagues liked to give me stick about using Macs. Every morning when I’d pop in to stay hello she’d go on about the price, or the lock-in or paucity of apps or what have you, all the while she was running a virus/malware checkers on her PC. Bright gal but she never picked up on that irony.

Well I’m up to my neck in the Tory party and use Apple computers, a Blackberry and an iPhone. So I guess that just makes me weird then.

Apple owners it appears (whether they closely identify with the brand or claim not to) are still broadly residents of the liberal left.

Would that be faux liberal or a kosher classical liberal? The only apple products I own are a 160 gig Ipod and an Airport Express, their computers and software are to my mind overpriced. I wouldn't be seen dead with an I-phone or one of those poncy, wafferesque, colour, Apple, Kindle jobbies. Blackberries are just fucking sad. I use a 3110 which is close to perfect*, made so by the ring-tone. Dunno what that says about my politics. * Though it could be argued that I'm an inverted snob.
