I don’t see what’s wrong with a socialist magazine (which of course the New Statesman isn’t) covering Shia Islam in a positive way. I don’t have time to read the article but hopefully it highlights the progressive aspects of the faith and not the apocalyptic ones.

See Tim Allon’s comment at 11:12 p.m. “Jaqueline Cainer” appears to be responding to a post by “Jonathan Cainer” and refers instead to her son “Jonathon”.

Of course, thinking of a Toronto Jewish comic’s riff on telling his mother that he was wedding a Muslim woman, possibly poor Jaquie C is merely putting on a brave face, but is really disturbed enough by “Jonathan Cainer’s” post.

Or, more likely, Jaqueline is some wit’s alias.

This article wowed me, as it is the only thing that comes even close to describing my very beautiful newly found faith. Thank you NewStatesman for choosing to publish a positive story about Islam; not many would dare.

Short of Yvonne Ridley , are there many people who genuinely think, speak or write like that? And don’t name George Galloway. I don’t think he really believes the sh!t he spews. It has just turned out to be a rather easy way for him to make a very good living.

There’s are 2 references to a Jacqueline Cainer in Google – on the New Statesmen website, and the reference here.

It could be a complete coincidence that the first time a woman makes a comment on the Internet, or indeed is referenced in any way on it, is on an article which is coincidentally commented on my her son (whose name, let’s remember, she can’t spell).
