Being called a loony by Mr Danger is like being told to stand up straight by the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Really? Name one lunatic view I hold Zin. Just one. What, I support freedom of speech in Cuba? Your definition of 'loony'?

Ben, you know nothing about Venezuela but it all "seems clear", huh?

Incidentally, do suffer from tourettes?

You define the unelectable old guard left who stopped thinking some time in the 1970s. Tony Benn? Come on you obviously have no interest in political reality.
If you read the post correctly is that didn't agree with his views but come on it is refreshing to hear a least one politician discuss issues.

If you honestly think the Tories are out to destroy the welfare state you are exactly the kind of easily panicked, gullible fool that Labour loves, but there aren’t many like you anymore. If Thatcher didn’t do it, why would Cameron?
Do you read any modern free market conservative materials.
Every one of their think tanks and blogs have implied
1. To dismantle the welfare state
2. To privatise the NHS and eventually education

Zin, I'm uncertain whether it is your command of the English language that is at fault for your misunderstanding of the etymology of the phrase "shut it down" as a colloquialism for "disrupt", "minimise", "neutralise" and any number of similar meanings or whether it is merely that you are a disingenuous cunt, as well as a Stalinist one. In a spirit of magnanimity, you may take your pick.

I am also not sure why you're going on at length about Venezuela again. Pretty tangential to the thrust of the discussion really. However, let me disabuse you of a misapprehension. I am not particularly interested in Venezuela. It seems clear that Chavez is a poor authoritarian populist substitute for a genuinely progressive, democratic and constitutional South American Left as represented rather better by the likes of Lula and Bachelet, but let us leave it at that.

Best regards etc.

Being called a loony by Mr Danger is like being told to stand up straight by the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

But here's something to cheer you up, my little golpista. Chavez's support is falling faster than a mercury filled baloon.

"According to a study carried out by the Venezuelan Institute of Data Analysis (IVAD), Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez’s approval has dropped... to 60.3%, from 62.4% last October"

I couldn’t have meant ‘political views’ then could I?

To be honest most of the time I don't have a clue what you mean. Your main reason for existence appears to be to act as a gatekeeper for lower-middle-class insecurities - stopping anyone mentioning that they come from a different background from the likes of Boris Johnson or the Irie (a role in which you are about as successful as Koldo Alvarez*

As for naminmg political views - what else have we been doing here? Nobody at HP is as far as I know a candidate for election. So we have been discussing candidates and their views. Venichka has given you one view, Lucy Lips another and I a third. But what you would like it seems is for me to give you David T and Brett's views (to which I not unreasonably say - ask them yourself.)

*(He's the goalkeeper for Andorra.)

You think a website has policies like a political party? Hahahaha

I couldn't have meant 'political views' then could I? Perhaps a more convincing retort would have had named one. Hahahaha.

Well perhaps that’s what you meant to say, but blah blah:

Zinster, shouldn't you be praising Castro's dictatorship or promoting the violent overthrow of democracy in Venezuela like you usually do? You have no credibility as defender of free speech. If anything you should be defending Ben and asking him to join the loonie bin that is 21st Century Socialism.

Potty-mouth young Ben is dissembling again:

"Oh fuck off Zin, you Stalinoid muppet. “Shutting this down” in terms of removing its people from it, discouraging Labour people from attending, distancing itself. Not ringing it with a Met gun squad, you drivelling imbecile"

Well perhaps that's what you meant to say, but what you actually said was:

“the government should be shutting this [conference] down”

Not "the Labour Party shouldn't send speakers"

You also seem very angry about Venezuela, although I doubt you've ever been or there or know anything about the place. Mind you, you seem angry about a lot of things, so perhaps you're just need a nice cup of tea.

Straitjacketed by Cameron and a crowd of ‘advisors’ his one…

In other words, you can’t actually criticise him for anything, you just hate him for his class.

Eh? You can't criticise him for anything because he has not done anything. As for class, I wasn't aware that Cameron advisors constituted one....

Old Labour has you right – you can’t actually think of any policies that sets HP apart from the Tories

You think a website has policies like a political party? Hahahaha

Graham your views out of step this website.

This is a website of many views - (which is why labelling it as any one thing is just silly.) Even if there were Tories posting here why would that be a problem? Is the Guardian right-wing just because it employs Simon Jenkins?
