As so many have already said, this is a great post — though I have to say that it seems to me that the plight of the Kurds gets deploarably little attention. I can’t say that I know a whole lot about this issue, but it seems to me that it is one of the great injustices of history that the Kurds didn’t get their own country.

the east coast of the Kinneret was awarded Israel in 1947, but occupied by Syria in her attempt to thwart a Jewish state, for which Israel offered to return the Golan to Syria, but was turned down.

Erm, there’s the inconvenience of international law which you’ve neglected to factor into what is obviously a scinitllating analysis. Remember international law? UN Security Council Resolution 242?

i) Withdrawal of Israel armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict;

(ii) Termination of all claims or states of belligerency and respect for and acknowledgment of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of every State in the area and their right to live in peace within secure and recognized boundaries free from threats or acts of force.”

hey, thanks for the info about Syria – I didn’t know they were on a similar level of cuntitiude as Israel (though without the obvious war crimes).

But that doesn’t change a single thing about the plight of the people of Gaza. So why are you trying to divert attention away from Israeli war crimes?

Actually, the UK grants Syria succour each time her diplomats criticise no aspect of Syrian foreign or domestic policy at all. Or BBC correspondents give fawning reviews, allowing Assad to expound forth on the unique nature of Syrian democracy.

Only the Jewish state is to be honoured with perfection from existence.
