Lee John Barnes	@4:38 pm

Do you consider that the concept of projective identification is relevant to your view of others, especially the various groups of which you have a negative view?

Mr Standing - that link worried me. At first I thought it was nice to see Arthur Rackham's "Undine" and pic of Wotan, and I started to read, and it was only after a while that I realised it was a Nazi site.

When I was a stroppy teenager, I was introduced to Irene Champernowne, who was Jungian art therapist:
http://health.learninginfo.org/art-therapy.htm

who had studied under Jung. She was the most wonderful person I have ever met. She knew influential people like Laurens Van der Post but wrote me letters full of praise and encouragement and took slides of my art to Switzerland.

I have seen things on the web about how some of Jung's associates went on to Nazism, but Irene Champernowne was a genuine spiritual woman. She lived in a little cottage in Broadway in Worcestershire, with two other ancient ladies who were born at the turn of the century. She was wise, tolerant and liberated.

I have read a few of Jung's works, such as Archetypes and the Collective Unconscious, and saw no traces of fascism within.

Some Nazis may have appropriated Jung for their own ends, but I think Jung was far more philosophical and wiser than Freud. I would need a LOT of convincing to believe that he was a Nazi sympathiser. Why would Aniela Joffe, who worked closely with Jung, never mention his "Nazi" associations?

<blockquote>In the past, the Burger Bar Boys and the Johnson Crew used to “work” with Asian gangs such as Sheree-Punjab, the Muslim Birmingham Panthers, the Redheads and the Lynx.</blockquote>

The Sher Punjab were / are a Sikh gang who had a lot of friction with the Pakistani gangs. As far as I understand, each gang kept out of the orbit of the other. As to whether there has been reconciliation — money talks and all else walks. If the Burger Bar gang or anyone else can make money out of co-operation, it will happen.

Barnes,

I see you're a fan of Jung. No great surprise.

You wouldn't by any chance be partial to his drivel on '<a href="http://www.nazi.org.uk/jung-wotan.htm" rel="nofollow">Wotan</a>' would you?

I forgive you Adrian.

Jamaica Inn, Forbidden Planet, Them (the one with the giant ants), the day the earth stood still (original version), Jeremiah Johnson and the Wicker Man are my favourite movies.

In the past, the Burger Bar Boys and the Johnson Crew used to "work" with Asian gangs such as Sheree-Punjab, the Muslim Birmingham Panthers, the Redheads and the Lynx. After the October 2005 riots the Asian and black gangs seemed to split from each other and position themselves in mutually antagonistic positions. Whether there has since been any reconciliation, I do not know.

The Burger Bar boys are notorious in Birmingham for their ruthlessness. They are basically Jamaican Yardies. These Bang Bang Taliban punks are a bunch of wannabes associating their 'crew' with something violent and notorious. In real life they are common criminals. All part of gang culture UK. I highly doubt they have anything to do with real jihadism in the midlands - and there are jihadist proponents in that part of the world. The ones you worry about are the ones that are low key and quiet.

I can't help being a thick jellyfish. I'm sorry Lee, if my jellyfish projections get in the way of a good discussion. But I was convinced it was the monsters from the id. I saw the movie (it had Leslie Nielsen in it too).
