Be very careful about clicking this link - it is a pdf file 7.41 mb in size. It is the "Patterns of Global Terrorism" report for 2003:
http://web.archive.org/web/20061114005644/www.mipt.org/pdf/2003pogt.pdf

p 154:

Description
PAGAD and its ally Qibla view the South African Government as a threat to Islamic values. The two groups work to promote a greater political voice for South African Muslims. PAGAD sometime uses front names such as Muslims Against Global Oppression and Muslims Against Illegitimate Leaders when launching anti-Western protests and campaigns.

Activities
PAGAD’s activities have been severely curtailed since 2001 by law-enforcement and prosecutorial efforts against leading members of the organization. Between 1996 and 2000, however, they conducted a total of 189 bomb attacks, including nine bombings in the Western Cape that caused serious injuries. PAGAD’s previous bombing targets have included South African authorities, moderate Muslims, synagogues, gay nightclubs, tourist attractions, and Western-associated restaurants. PAGAD is believed to have masterminded the bombing on 25 August 1998 of the Cape Town Planet Hollywood.

Strength
Current operational strength is unknown, but previous estimates were several
hundred members.

Good piece. I have been going back through my archives, and I am surprised that there is no mention of PAGAD's murder of Rasaad Staggie in 1996. He and his brother ran the Hard Living drug gang, but the manner in which he was killed by a mob - shot and then burned alive, was horrific.

"In April 1986, 12 Libyan-trained PAC guerrillas were arrested at Athens airport carrying Scorpion machine pistols, AK-47 rifles, TNT explosives, detonators and ammunition. According to the minister of law and order at the time, Adriaan Vlok, those arrested included members of Qibla. In December 1986, two Qibla members were arrested in Cape Town. The two members — Achmat Cassiem and Yusuf Patel — together with five PAC members were charged with 24 counts of terrorism, membership of a banned organisation, attempted murder and possession of arms and ammunition.12 Achmat Cassiem was incarcerated on Robben Island, and was later to become the driving force in extending Qibla’s influence over Pagad.

In the 1990s, Cassiem had become the Amir (Arabic for ‘leader’) of Qibla and the organisation continued its close relationship with militants in the PAC and the Azanian People’s Organisation (AZAPO), with the intention of broadening its support base among local Muslims. The objectives of Qibla are not clearly spelled out, due to a lack of information. However, under the banner of "One Solution, Islamic Revolution" the possibility of an Islamic revolution in South Africa as a long-term objective needs to be seen as the primary goal. The influence of Qibla on Pagad was possibly established when Pagad formed an informal alliance with the PAC in 1996.13 Allegedly, the reason for this alliance can be attributed to the relationship Qibla had had with the PAC’s military wing, the Azanian People’s, Liberation Army (APLA) and with the PAC during the armed struggle against apartheid. According to Brümmer: "Qibla has strong relations with Pagad, among them the fact that the two bodies share a number of their top leaders."14 Sheikh Sedick, the secretary-general of the Muslim Judicial Council, is of the opinion that ideologically, Pagad’s establishment in 1995 was directly linked to the inability of Qibla to develop into a mass-based organisation for the promotion of an Islamic revolution" much more....

also still creating a fuss in 2007:

anyway, have written to my MP. It seemed to help with keeping Jahjah out. If it is too late to keep this guy out this time, at least if we alert them this may exclude him next time.

Nick(ExSA) Quite so. One of my friends told me she could not not send their daughter to Wits (my alma mater, bastion of anti apartheid resistence with many Jewish students back in the day) as it is now so toxic with Islamic Jew hatred.

Sadly, there's so much other 'skop skiet and donner' in SA, that this Isloamofascist kak gets pretty much completely lost in background static.
