Ann On. Get a life. You are acting like a twat. This post is about HT. Why are you so obsessed with Murray? I’ve seen and heard him talk many times, read his work and to be honest he does not seem to be how you describe him to be. So get that chip of your shoulder. And he employes a Houriya Ahmed, from what I understand and read of her she is a Muslem. So you just don’t make sense and instead you actually seem quite stupid.

The quotes from Murray are real, he really does talk about Islam being an “infection”, worry about our cities “falling” to Muslims because of the “demographic time bomb” about islam being “uniquely violent”. Murray believes in a “Eurabia” thesis, and wants to single out immigrants by religion. Just becase H-u-T are reactionary , doesn’t mean you should jump into bed with Murray. In fact, by not rejecting Murray’s ugly talk, you make it harder to isolate H-u-T.

@Ann on – Come on these people who are facists, are just trying to deflect attention from their facist ideas.

Whatever your views about is the nature of Islam or the inevitable outcome of islam and Islamic communities being islamized, or what is the most authentic – tahririe, wahabi, Sufi, orthodox, Shia – progressive etc, you have to be able to acknowledge there are different points of view about what islam actually is, and therefore what impact it will have on society and integration issues and how to
balance that in a society.

This should be not equated with facist groups like th HuT and give any kind of credence to their response by random attack.

That link was merely to reference the origin of the term, it was not meant to use the context behind the original use of the phrase to apply to current think tanks. I do believe that some of the new kids on the block are motivated by ulterior motives. CSC are clearly trying to position themselves with the next Tory government and QF often sound like they are acting out policies of the government with Muslims. I do not subscribe to any great Zionist plot or ‘Jewish conspiracy’.

Unfortunately Hizb ut-Tahrir are completely right to say that the Centre for Social Cohesion’s boss Douglas Murray said ‘“Conditions for Muslims in Europe must be made harder across the board.”. That is not a “smear”, it is the truth. Moreover, Murray also said, in the same speech (at the 2006 Pim Fortuyn memorial conference):-

“it is late in the day, but Europe still has time to turn around the demographic time-bomb which will soon see a number of our largest cities fall to Muslim majorities. It has to. All immigration into Europe from Muslim countries must stop”

and

“At the heart of this problem is the primary disease – the AIDS of the West – the disease which has made the opportunist infection of Islam so deadly. That disease is relativism. It is the belief that all cultures are equal even while one culture (our own) is ridden over daily and even while another (Islam) is becoming uniquely violent”

and

“So it is worth reminding ourselves of the basics of the problem. No European country’s Muslim population is currently higher than 10% – which ordinarily would be alright – not ideal, but alright. What makes it a problem is not only that native European birth-rates are falling, but that Western relativists are acting as a megaphone for the Muslim minority”

the moral is, just because you don’t like H-u-T, doesn’t mean you should have any truck with Douglas Murray, author of these right wing rants.

@ Zkharya. I see literacy is not common currency these days. The report’s most recent source is 2009 and is full of strategy documents and up to date analysis as well as recent publications and leaflets. Admittedly, there could have been an interview with Ata Abu Rishta – HT’s global leader – or the UK leadership. But otherwise it seems well referenced. I am sure an audio version of this report will be released soon.

Islamist: I found your analysis of the feud very helpful in clarfying my puzzlement about this dispute: right up until you used the term stink tanks and I followed your link as to its definition. If that is what you think of both CSC and QF then your review is worthless and contemptible.
