Twitter against Ahmadinejad

This is a cross post from Fair Play

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is due to speak at the United Nations General Assembly today. He has said he wants to wipe Israel off the map, he regularly denies the Holocaust and he has brutally put down protests in Iran at his apparent theft of the Presidential election.

Unfortunately, [...]

Degrees of Stupidity

On Saturday the “Stop the War Coalition” held an Israel hatred meeting at the University of London Union.
Here’s the video of Shamiul Joarder. At one minute in, he says:
“There is absolutely no room for anyone with antisemitic views in the Free Palestine movement”.

That’s quite funny coming from the head of public affairs of Friends [...]

Who Said This?

Where might one expect to find remarks like these:
The fact that Meshal realises that his words will be scrutinised by his allies and supporters as closely as his adversaries confirms that he speaks of the official position of Hamas on a number of crucial issues which the pro-Israel propaganda apparatus has managed to manipulate for [...]

Edmund Standing on BBC File on Four Tonight

Be sure to catch our comrade, Edmund, on the BBC this evening at 8 p.m on Radio Four.

Like others described [...]

And for good reason. Previous IPPR papers have argued that hard-line British Islamists from groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood [...]

Barnes Featured in Nothing British About the BNP

The excellent centre-right “Nothing British About the BNP”  features a nice snippet about our old friend and sometime denizen of our comments boxes, Lee Barnes:
Lee Barnes, legal director of the BNP, has crudely called Conservative Party leader David Cameron an “old whore” and says the party is in the pocket of Israel after news has emerged over [...]

UN Human Rights Council report: a media round up

This is a cross post from Just Journalism

Last week, the UN Human Rights Councilpublished the findings of its investigation into alleged war crimes committed during the Gaza war. Headed by South African Judge Richard Goldstone, the four-person team concluded that there was strong evidence that war crimes, and possibly crimes against humanity, had been committed by both [...]

Fair play for Messianic Jews

This is a guest post by the Rosh Pina Project, a new blog which takes an alternative look at Messianic Jews.
This week, the Jewish Chronicle reports on antisemitic incidents in Scotland targeting a Messianic Jewish congregation. The JC reports that youths have yelled “Kill the Jews!” and “Jews out” at those attending. The Community Security [...]

NHS fixing private medicine’s mistakes

While debate in the US continues about Obama’s healthcare reforms, perhaps UK residents who worry about the NHS should reflect on the state of private medical care in the UK.
People having hip replacements at private treatment centres brought in to cut waiting times are up to 20 times more likely to need painful and expensive [...]
