This isn’t about dress codes, this is about professionalism — professionalism that she signed onto when she took the job. If you are a mayor you should, as Morgoth says, know how to color coordinate. But in all seriousness, when you represent your town, you represent everyone. And that requires a little sobriety in how you present yourself to your community and your neighboring communities, and your state.

A little eccentricity is one thing, and “fashionably” permittable… But if you want to make your town look good, then “dress good.” If you you want your town to look trashy… well… the example is above for all to see. YICK!
