Another question I've been wanting to ask for some time - are there any non-governmental organisations in Britain that formally monitor anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist hate speech in particular?

Andrew:

"I’ve had a look at their website and it’s clear iERA is Salafi/Wahabi going by the list of speakers. Interesting that there are people from Mexico, Columbia and Ecuador!"

The name of another potential speaker leaps off the page - Bilal Philips, one of the “stars” of the Dispatches Undercover Mosque programme.

Philips, a Jamaican-born Canadian citizen, is a former Communist and convert to Islam who teaches at the American University in Dubai and Ajman University in the UAE, and lectures on Islam worldwide both in person and via the internet.

In Undercover Mosque, he was filmed sanctioning underage marriage. Using the example of Mohammed’s marriage to a six-year old, he was shown telling worshippers at Birmingham’s Green Lane mosque that:

“The prophet Mohammed practically outlined the rules regarding marriage prior to puberty. With his practice, he clarified what is permissible, and that is why we shouldn't have any issues about an older man marrying a younger woman, which is looked down upon by this society today, but we know that Prophet Mohammed practised it, it wasn’t abuse or exploitation, it was marriage.”

He is also an enthusiastic advocate of sharia punishments, including amputation and stoning to death, and supported both on his website. Unfortunately, his website seems to be currently unavailable, so instead here’s a short video of him defending the death penalty for Muslim apostates.

Bilal Philips was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Centre bombing. Clement Rodney Hampton-El, aka Dr Rashid, an American Al-Qaeda operative convicted for plotting the so-called “Day of Terror” follow-up attacks to the WTC bombing, claimed Philips supplied him with the names of ex-soldiers who were willing to become jihadists. (Philips claims to have converted more than 3,000 US soldiers to Islam while they were stationed in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War.)

Philips himself denies the claim, and states that he has never been charged with anything. Nevertheless, he was deported from the United States in 2004.

In April 2007, Philips was refused entry to Australia on the grounds of national security.

Despite this, he is still apparently free to enter Britain. Although I notice that the IERA website states that his appearance on the da’wah tour is still to be confirmed.

Perhaps the new Home Secretary can help ensure that it isn’t?

Banning him would be wrong. Mr Yee has a whole round of speaking engagements that may end up being attended by 1000s of Muslim extremists.

Ban him and those extremists will still be here. Allow him in and you can observe who his followers are, what they do, where they live and with whom they associate.

Mr Yee could become a very useful little ball of islamist catnip.

I say let the ignorant hateful fucker in to say his piece; he will, after all, literally only be preaching to the converted. His presence will serve to highlight the threat that Islamic extremism poses, and if the Wahabi wanker breaks any laws about hate speech then arrest him. It's a win-win situation.

I note that Hamza Tzortzis' name is there. He was/is a trustee of the Green Crescent charity - weapons were found at it's Bangladesh school.

Yi or Ye or Yee, as he might choose to spell his name; all are correct. Note the variations on a theme of Cohen like Cohn and Kohn.

Ye's surname and face tell us that he is ethnically Chinese or possibly a Chinese-Malay mixed-breed*.

There are ethnic Chinese who are Muslims in Malaysia; most of those who make a fuss about their identity as Muslims are recent converts to Islam but there are some Malaysian Chinese Muslims who are descended from Chinese who converted long ago.

If Ye is a recent convert to Islam, must of his silly extremism is immediately explicable.

Conversion to Islam does not confer Bumiputera status, of course. Indian Muslims in Malaysia are counted as unquestionable Muslims but are exclused from all the special party favours that Bumiputera status confers. Children born in Sarawak to Iban mothers and Chinese fathers, of whom there are many, are sometimes - not invariably, of course - registered as the children of their paternal grandfather. This nifty sleight-of-hand is tacitly condoned.

* The most famous person of mixed race these days is Tiger Woods, the American golfer. He claims White European, Thai Thai, Chinese Thai, Black African and Native American ancestry.

Winston Churchill claimed that his grandmother's grandmother on his mother's side was Iroqois but historians have failed to uncover corroborative proof. His maternal grandmother was inclined to say "It's the Indian in me coming out" whenever she did anything supposedly unladylike such as yelling out of an upstairs window or running up a flight of stairs.

Ye is a Muslim yet he is an ethnic Chinese.

Is Ye's family a Chinese Muslim one or is he, in person, a convert to Islam?

Converts to Islam are often the daftest and most extreme.

It's interesting to see the recurring theme in the outpourings of Islamic "evangelists". There is an obvious "inferiority complex" with respect to Jews and Judaism. It's clear that they (and Christians for that matter) really fear that the only true religion , of which they are rebellious offshoots, is Judaism, as espoused by the "Chosen People".

Of course Spectrum above gives the correct version - or are the Muslims right (Chosen-ness only)?
