I like the idea that the media and the non-fascist blogosphere doing pieces critical of the BNP is the result of orders from ‘on high’. To them it’s clearly completely implausible that a liberal blog like this one, which expends great energy writing about those it considers fascists in the middle east would bother to talk about fascists in Britain too.

The problem with this approach is that the electorate that is tending to go BNP are not seeking to become racists, they are seeking protection from a problem they are forbidden to discuss. Inflicted on them by the mainstream politics and politicians of their nation. Telling them that the only life preserver they now have has naughty graffiti written on it is likely to have no effect.

I find it highly significant that so many ‘left wingers’, to use your terminology SOC, are able to excuse the actions of the fascist Hamas/Fatah/Hezbollah movements and the excesses of the so-called ‘anti’-fascist movement.

Yes, that was my point. Whenever there is a thread about Hamas, you can always guarantee that one or two posters will pop up saying “but what about Israel”. Likewise, whenever there is a thread about the BNP, some people will come along saying “what about New Labour”.
