The main part of Floridia, full of transplanted Yankees*, would become an independent republic with the capital in Orlando. Miami would become the independent city-state of Free Cuba or Cuba Libre!. As to what could bring this into being. How about a "limited" nuclear war like in the TV series "Jericho"? *This part of Florida is the only place where you have to go north in order to be in the South!
