And as we know, the BBC is a "model of fairness and even-handedness where Muslims, Jews and Israel are concerned"®.

"How interesting that the BBC did not note the press conference given in Baghdad by Dr. Daud Abdullah during the Ken Bigley affair. In that press conference -which to be fair was neither shown live by the BBC or SKY but on CNN, Abdullah clearly called on “The Iraqi Resistance” To attack British and US forces in Iraq." – Maven.

Do you have either a link or Abdullah's exact words? Reported by whom – named journalist? This is most interesting.

Update (of sorts). Did anyone else see Charlie Brooker's "Newswipe" last night? It may be available on the web. BBC Four 10.30 25.03.09.

Brooker played a tiny part of an "interview" with Anjem Choudary on the commercial television (which I do not watch) in which Choudary cheerfully acknowledges his role in the Luton Islamic welcome to the Royal Anglicans returning from Iraq. ("Baby Killers of Basra" was one placard message held aloft by the Islamic scholars present.) Choudary was smiling throughout and was thanked rather fulsomely by the inept couple perched apologetically at the other end of the couch. It made Jeremy Paxman's efforts with Abdullah seem like Joe McCarthy.

Larkers, vas deferens, sperm and other bodily fluids, oh, yeah, Sid.

Hannah, I will abjure on writing my M.P., as he's just received another on Abdullah and Lord Ahmed directly. However, anyone here a constituent of John Whittingdale? Would his role as chairman on the House of Commons Media Select Committee help?

"Larkers, as I understand it, the demand was for Abdullah’s dismissal should the M.C.B. wish to receive any further Government patronage, which is reasonable to my mind." – Alec.

This is the argument that was not made in my hearing – I could of course have missed it. I do not re-call Vaz making this point either. I wonder even now why not. Was Vaz aware of this? But I am alarmed at the thought that all the M.C.B. has to do to receive more money is shuffle Daud Abdullah out of sight. The wider question is what does this organisation once so central to the government's ambitions for 'social cohesion' stand for? I think I know the answer but only because I come to Harry's Place to find out.

Don’t forget Chris Moyles’ little dig at Will Young recently, and the murder music artists on the Radio 1 and 1Xtra playlist.

Keeping a whiff of anti-gay sentiment around probably doesn’t hurt the BBC’s standing with the Muslim community either.

What about all the lies, accusations and faux-framing of His Holiness the Pope's comments in Africa? As usual Right Not Racist underlines that their idea of right-of-centre translates to far left of the Frankfurt School Marxists they so lovingly espouse.
