Throughout the month of June 235 rockets were fired by Hamas on Israel. From July until October 2008 a total of 40 rockets were fired on Israel. Hardly a ceasefire!

The ceasefire was between Hamas and Israel. The rockets were fired by Islamic Jihad. Hamas simply couldn’t control them, very much like Israel can’t control the Jewish settlers who beat Palestinians, uproot their trees and smash their cars.

“Two Israelis were killed when at least four Palestinian terrorists infiltrated the Nahal Oz fuel terminal from the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.

Oleg Lipson, 37 and Lev Cherniak, 53, both residents of Beersheba, were employed at the terminal, which supplies the Gaza Strip with most of its fuel.

IDF troops and emergency medical teams, who arrived on the scene, came under heavy gun and mortar fire.

Two of the terrorists were killed by the IDF in the terminal, and at least two others fled back to the Gaza Strip. In a swift response, the military dispatched aircraft which hit a car carrying at least one of the terrorists. According to a Hamas spokesman, the man was seriously injured. The army said two of the attackers were killed in the strike.

The army said that the terrorists’ objective was probably to kidnap Israelis to Gaza and use them as a bargaining chip.

Military sources said that the terrorists had cut the fence and entered Israel, and added that there were no signs of a tunnel near the site of the attack.

In recent days, Hamas has threatened several times that it would breach the border.

The army raised the level of alertness to level three, the highest level, throughout the Negev.

Three terror groups, Islamic Jihad, the Popular Resistance Committees and Fatah’s Mujahideen Brigades, claimed responsibility for the attack.

Mortar shells were still being fired at Israeli communities in the area several hours after the attack.”

Meanwhile, Hamas has started using police cars to ferry around Palestinians because of severe fuel shortages.

Orange stickers reading, “We are ready to drive you for free,” were affixed to blue units of the Hamas-run police force.

Israel has restricted fuel supplies to Gaza in an attempt to pressure Palestinian terrorists to halt their rocket barrages at nearby Israeli communities.

Although Hamas complains bitterly about fuel shortages, it is widely believed that it has hoarded supplies for its own use – especially now that it is offering its vehicles to ferry people for free. ”

More people have died from Jew-on-Jew violence in Israel (street shootings between rival maffia gangs) than from Qassam rockets.

As opposed to the numbers of Palestinians who die in “industrial accidents” i.e. manufacturing bombs or living near such manufacturing facility and Palestinian-on-Palestinian factional violence as opposed to IDF operations that are directed against “militants” using the locals, willingly or unwillingly as human shields, HB?

And no, they weren’t bribed into leaving what had been their homes for centuries by the Israeli government. They fled, having been subjected to varying degrees of persecution by the Muslim majority for centuries and spent three or four years living in tents in the desert until they were settled in southern Israel. Back in the 1960s, I went to school with several French and Spanish-speaking Sephardim who were most grateful that their families settled in peaceful Canada, far from their historic persecutors. I also had a classmate who was a Coptic Christian whose family left Egypt for less oppressive western climes.
