I think the idea behind it has to do witht the fact that throughout the early stages of the second intifada a suicide bombers family could expect to recieve about $20,000 from the Saudis, roughly the same amount from Saddam Hussein, priviledges from the PA – and possibly other economic benefits from Arab states and organisations. This is big money in the occupied territories.

With this system in place suicide bombing did become a business, the shahid gets into heaven and his or her family benefited as well. I think demloshing the houses of suicide bombers is meant to mitigate the financial incentive to murder.

Yes. Yesterday when they went to his house to find his father, he said that he was the last person to do something like this and that is was terrible, bla bla. When the policemen were taking him away, a woman in the house started chanting a praise for the shahid.
I read it yesterday in one newspaper but I couldn’t find it today.
